Mount Maunganui

Located in the Bay of Plenty, in the upper central North Island, Mt Maunganui is a stunning provincial town neighbouring lovely Tauranga. Its peak rises up from the coastline to mark a popular holiday destination, with kilometres of white sand, surf beaches, an abundance of sunshine and a temperate environment.
'The Mount' (as the locals nickname 'Mount Maunganui') was the inspiration for the name: 'ZiwiPeak'. The intention in selecting the name, was to evoke something uniquely New Zealand. Hence the blending of the letter 'Z' from Zealand and the 'K' from the word 'Kiwi' (the colloquial expression for a New Zealander and our national icon) to make 'Ziwi'. The word 'Peak' is included to introduce the concept of the 'peak of good health' and also refers to the peak of this beautiful beach area.
